Dear Gothaer / citizens of Gotha, dear guests
of a former world-class town,
You will be amazed at what Gotha has to offer.
After the first running and walking/hiking
book “The Moved Gotha” of the former residence town and its surrounding
mountains had its successful start at the end of the year 2005, a second gap in
the Gotha literature was closed with the German guide “Das sehenswerte Gotha”
in 2006. And now the third one is here:
The first English guide of Gotha is available.
Time of going to press was the 30 June 2008.
So the results of this year`s Short Put Meeting in Gotha and the world champion
Günter Schnürch in judo in Brussels are included.
The event summer in Gotha this year is
dedicated the theme journeys .The exhibition highlight of 2008 at the Castle
Gotha “Peace Stone” bears the full title:
‘A Prince Discovers the World – The Travels and
Collections of Duke Alfred of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha (1844-1900)’
under the patronage of His Royal Highness the Prince
of Wales.
It also reflects the English guide: The Co-curator
of the Alfred Show/Exhibition, Dr. Falk Reitz, wrote an article about the
Gothaish-English relations. As a translator he could win the British Steve
Crow. So, even a native speaker is involved in the project. The guide was
edited again by the Gotha expert Matthias Wenzel.
The town guide is worth seeing: The cover
image is identical with the German first edition due to the recognition value.
The content, however, is still vivid, even more informative, yet abundantly
illustrated, even better printed. The affordable price of 4.95 Euro remains the
same.
It
does not happen everyday that tips belong to the concept as the honour of
successful athletes and committed citizens. The emphasis of the experimental
archaeologist Dominique Görlitz and the research of palaentologist Dr Thomas
Martens – Gotha has the largest early reptieles collection in Europe.are new.
A selection of important objects in the
district of Gotha and trip recommendations even to Eisenach and Weimar complete
the publication.
The new Gotha guide will be available at the
tourist information, bookstores, museums and hotels**** in Gotha. Both editions
can be ordered at the author (see letterhead).
The photos by Kamen Pawlow to the worth seeing
Gotha and its surrounding are exhibited at the lawyer`s office
Schultheis&Gottlob and colleagues at the “House to the Golden Hen”, lower
main market 36, Gotha, tel +49 (0) 3621 / 7240-0, on workdays, entrance is for
free. There are the Gotha books available, too.
Thanks for your interest.
